a) Diversion of Waghadi Nalla       Waghadi river flows through congested area of the City. Many drains directly discharge sullage to the Waghadi Nalla. Also some industrial units discharge their effluents into Waghadi.The flow of Waghadi is therefore highly polluted. The Waghadi River joins the Godavari river just downstream of Gadge Maharaj Bridge. To avoid polluting of Holy stretch the Waghadi Nalla will be diverted from Gadge Maharaj Bridge to Talkuteshwar Bridge along the proposed road on left bank of Godavari river.

b) Land Acquisition for STP at Tapovan (32 Hectares)
      Nasardi river flows through NMC area nearly bisecting it. Therefore many drains discharge sullage into the Nasardi river thereby polluting it. Nasardi in turn joins Godavari river near Agar Takli and Tapovan. To prevent pollution of Godavari river near Tapovan it is proposed to lay intercepting sewer to divert the pollutants. The sewage thus collected will be pumped to STP for treatment.

c) Interception and Diversion of all Nallas Joining Godavari River
      NMC has already laid Right bank and Left Bank sewer lines to trap various nallas. It is now proposed to trap all these nallas polluting Godavari river and divert the same to new Ganeshwadi Pumping station.

d) Construction of Storm Water Drain from Indrakund to Devi- Sandwa (Culvert)
      Major Portion of the Dindori Road area drains towards Indrakund. Therefore in monsoon storm water flows from Indrakund to Ramkund thereby totally flooding the Ramkund, Laxman Kund etc., creating obstruction and nuisance to pilgrims. To control this, a separate storm water drain is proposed to be constructed from Indrakund to Devi- Sandwa so as to protect the most holy stretch of Godavari river near Ramkund from monsoon storm water.

e) Construction of Outfall Sewer from Talkuteshwar Temple to New Ganeshwadi Pumping Station.
      NMC has taken up the work of construction of Sharanpur Road intercepting sewer presently. It is proposed to lay this sewer line up to Talkuteshwar temple. However, during Sinhastha this will cause pollution to Godavari River. To avoid pollution of Godavari River, it is proposed to construct outfall sewer from Talkuteshwar Temple to New Ganeshwadi Pumping Station. The sewage thus collected will be pumped into the proposed STP.

f) Construction of Box Culvert for Saraswati Nalla from Gadge Maharaj to Talkuteshwar Temple.
      Presently NMC has taken up the work of "interception and diversion "of Saraswati Nalla from Ramsetu Bridge up to Gadge Maharaj Oharmashala. Now the same box culvert will be continued up to Talkuteshwar Temple and Sewage in it will be carried to New Ganeshwadi Pumping Station through outfall sewer.

g) Augmentation of Ganeshwadi Pumping Station and Renovation of the Existing Unit.
      Existing Right bank and Left Bank sewers release the sewage to Ganeshwadi Pumping station (Old). To pump this sewage to proposed STP augmentation and renovation work of existing pumping station is necessary.

h) Providing and laying of rising main of 700 mm from Ganeshwadi pumping Station to STP site.
      To pump the sewage collected at Ganeshwadi Pumping Station it is proposed to lay rising main of 700mm dia. up to the proposed STP. at Tapovan.

i) Construction of STP at Tapovan.
      To treat the polluted water, it is decided to construct 50 mId cap. STP at Tapovan.
